'C' Is For Cookie

Those lousy Girls Scouts have struck again! They're everywhere!
So I am stopping by the bank the other day, I am in a t-shirt, basketball shorts and flip-flops. I haven't shaved in 3 days, and what little hair I have is sticking up in all directions because, besides needing a shower, I also needed a haircut. But did any of that sway the Brownies from attacking? Heaven's no! They surrounded me from all sides and in one coordinated effort, they all sing-songed, "Would you like to buy some Girl Scout Cookies?"
I did what any flummoxed person would have done, having been badgered by the short-stack salespeople...I asked how much a box was. When I was told that I could secure a box of any one of 5 different addictive recipes for the mere cost of $4 a box, I promised them I would get some cash from said bank I was about to pay a sojourn. A cheerier crowd of pip-squeaks, I doubt you could find.So I went into the bank, and as promised, came back out with cash. Being the sucker that I am for these cookies, I ended up buying 10 boxes.
Oh well...many friends come out of the woodwork when they learn that you have a stash of these tasty treats. Next year though, I am going to take a page out of this guy's book:

Hey, why don't ya bring some to the retreat? I'd be happy to help you get rid of them! :) LOL.

No save them for our little slumber party this week! We can stay up late and find out who likes who. What do you say?

10 boxes! holy cow! what can I sell you? I'm short, probably the same height as those girls!

I bought 5 of the Carmel Delights (formerly known as "Samoas") and 5 of the Peanut Butter Sandwiches, (because they didn't have any Tag-a-Longs). I think I like Craig's idea of staying up late and discussing who likes who...maybe even do some pedicures. If I have any left next week, I will bring them!

You better not be staying up too late, we want samoas at the retreat! My favorite!! And remember that cookies are good at making any kid like you (there are going to be a lot of kids at the retreat!!)

I want to buy some girl scout cookies. My favorite are the Samoas or I guess Caramel Delights now. Love them. If there are any left bring them to the retreat. I will help you eat them.

Who can say no to girls scout cookies......YUMMMY! I love them and I was actually looking for them when I went to Smiths the other day, but I guess they hadn't rallied together yet. Enjoy those tasty but expensive treats!

Eating Samoas, and getting pedicures sounds like a good night!

What's up with the name change? I can't believe a cookie was not P.C. What is this world coming to?

By the way. My average size brain tells me you paid 40 bucks for cookies. 40 Bucks! Hope they are carmelly delightful! :)

the little gals who came to the door only charged me $3.50 for my Thin Mints!

I oddly haven't seen any girl scout cookie-sellers yet. It's probably a good thing b/c I ADORE their cookies and I don't know if I'd have the self-control necessary to turn them down (ya know, 'cause of the whole allergy thing).

Dang! I bought a box of genuine Samoas for a mere $3.25. You got ripped off!

I know this doesn't compare with your 10 boxes, but I did just secure myself 4 boxes, 2 of which were Samoas. Mine are still called Samoas and not Carmel Delights. I sure hope that means they are not from last year! Anyway, don't feel bad about the 10 boxes, you just can't help buying so many when they only come around once a year. Besides, they freeze really well.

TEN BOXES??? Where were YOU when I needed to sell 1,000 as an ambitious Girl Scout? That would have helped out. Most people (like me) just bought two boxes. Although, I should have bought more. Ya ya went through one in 10 minutes. we bought Mint and Samoas (and mine said Samoa too) Oh. I bought three. I also bought the Peanut Butter ones. Yumm.

LOL! That is funny! I have been trying to find some of these pesky Girl Scouts to buy some yummy thin mints and of course the coconut/caramel/chocolate ones or what ever they are called these days.

The information I have gathered on the whole "Samoa" name is that Girl Scouts apparently outsource the making of these cookies, (and I always thought they gathered a bunch of 8 year old girls into a kitchen and forced them to cook). Anyway, they use to use one company, and recently changed to a new company, and the old cookie company had the name "Samoa" trademarked, so the Girl Scouts couldn't use it anymore.

No PC worries.

UPS can take some off your hands and send them to Minersville. I can't even find any....oh well I guess that saves me money and calories. I would rather eat the cookies though! That ought to score you some "brownie" points with the girls.

I want some cookies! I haven't seen any girl scouts either! :( I guess it may be for the best though. It's true, I can save myself the calories.

I was attacked just yesterday at the Avenues Smiths. Apparently they work in packs. I was not as nice as you though. I only bought one box. I have a little problem with self control and would eat all 10 if I bought them.

I wish they'd surround my house one of these days! I have to search the little darlings out on the years I really have cravings.
