Life O Zach

Welcome back to the life and times of yours truly. When last we met, I was recovering from my adventures in Trinidad. I can assure you that I am ok, all traumatizing has been nullified. Thank you for your support.
So last Friday I went out on a date to an Indian restaurant. It was an All-You-Can-Eat Buffet. They served Beef Curry on the buffet. It was good.
The last week and a half, I have been working here in the Provo shop, Monday through Friday, 8 to 5...much like a common person. The job leaves me at the end of each day pretty dirty, grimy and covered in grease. So on Saturday I decided I should take my greasy clothes down to the local laundromat. I don't want to ruin the laundry machines I typically use for cleansing of the soiled apparel. (Thanks Mom and Dad!) I am not sure what it is about the laundromat...but that is where the Cream of the Crop of Crazies come to gather. While I was there, there was a rather large woman, wearing moon boots and sweats, that scared me. She would stand there mumbling to herself, and then with no warning at all, let out a screaming "Hiii-YA!", and gesticulate in some random form of martial arts. I can tell you this...Bruce Lee she was not. However, Jackie Chan from "Drunken Master"...perhaps.
Sunday I had the opportunity to speak in church. I didn't get booed and the Bishop didn't have to correct anything I said after I sat down...so I would say it went rather well. I was able to tell the story about the bat and my farewell. That is always a great way to start any talk.
Monday night I went out to eat with a friend in Salt Lake. We went to La Chai Noodle on State Street. I think I might have got a slight touch of the food poisoning. I am grateful to the wonderful employees at Chevron on 1300 East and 2100 South for their dutiful diligence in maintaining clean restrooms. Thank you.
The next morning this same friend sent me a pic text of her very "healthy" cat sprawled out in a supine position, along with an obscure reference to Jabba the Hut from Star Wars. That was a great way to start the day.
Yesterday I found out that there were some more layoffs at a company I used to work for. To all of my friends there, you are in my prayers. Good luck through this time.
On a brighter note, my awesome brother-in-law just sent me an e-mail letting me know that two of my all-time favorite TV shows,
"Ed"
and
"Love Monkey"

are probably going to be coming out on DVD sometime before 2020! WHOO HOO!!!
Finally, for you men out there, this Saturday IS Valentine's day. Don't forget to get something special for your someone special. I have already purchase a large container of premium oats for my imaginary pet Stall-ony.
(Stallion Pony)

Oh and I am heading back to Scotland next week.

Until next time!

I had India food for the first time last week. It made me have nightmares, weird huh?

Is there someone special for your Valentine, besides a imaginary horse? Settle I know? Thats the sister in me.

Have fun in Scotland! Be safe!
Love you!

Do you have a Scottish accent yet? I am sure by this next time there you'll have it down.

I also agree with Gretchen, Is there someone special for Valentines day besides the stallion? :o)

GREAT post!! Another all-American-chain came to the rescue! I've been there - although it was a Conoco. Hope you feel better.

Zach your life never surprises me! I remember hearing about the bat thing. I don't think I was at your farewell, but I do remember the bats in the church even years later.

Look at you being all normal with a 9 to 5 job.

Oh, wait. I forgot about Stall-ony. ...and the fact you're headed to Scotland next week. Bon Voyage!

Finally! For some odd reason I have had problems loading your blog lately. I read this post days ago on Reader but have been unable to comment.

I am actually a big fan of Indian food, and now that I have read about it, I am in the mood for some. I'm going to have to have Brian take me out this weekend.

I would have LOVED seeing that lady in the laundromat. I've been trying to get Brian to go to the laundromat to wash Coopers' stinky bedding (there is no way I am using my machine for that), and he keeps saying he doesn't have two hours to waste. Maybe if he reads this and realizes there is some real potential for entertainment, he will finally go.

Love the "bat out of hell" story - classic. Any time you get a chance to tell that one, you must!
